Glasgow Queen Street station has qualified for the World Cup of Stations

Out of over 2,500 stations, Glasgow Queen Street has qualified for the World Cup of Stations and is now through to the final.

Today it will face some strong competition, with heavyweight London King’s Cross and last year’s winner Huddersfield still in the running to take the crown. However, as the last remaining Scottish station, Glasgow Queen Street has a chance to get the power of the country behind it to propel them to victory.

Sandra White MSP commented:

“This year like no other has reiterated the vital importance of our rail network and the staff who work tirelessly to keep our country moving. I warmly welcome the news that the fantastic new Glasgow Queen Street has reached the final of the World Cup of Stations!

“This tournament is a way to celebrate the role that our stations and their staff continue to play in keeping Scotland running through the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Lets get behind Queen Street, vote via Twitter, and bring the trophy back to Glasgow!”
