Covid19 – Energy Prepayment Meters Support

A number of energy providers have launched specific support for those on prepayment meters who are affected by self-isolation challenges. The following details have been issued to me, detailing support or encouraging residents to contact to discuss options during this crisis.

Most companies have advised customers to use live chat and email options on their websites in the first instance, however if you urgently need support you can use the following details.

British Gas

British Gas state that they will help residents to find solutions on a case-by-case basis, please phone: 0333 202 9802 

EDF 

EDF ask residents to seek help from family and friends to top up their cards, if this is not possible they can deliver ‘preloaded cards’ to tenants (with the balance recovered at a ‘suitable rate’ later). Call EDF on: 0333 200 5100

E.on 

E.on requests residents to seek help from a trusted person to top up for them, however should this not be possible they can issue a preloaded card in the post or send an engineer to reconnect energy supply in an emergency. Call E.on on: 0345 052 0000 

Npower

No service stated, Npower say they are devising support. Call Npower on: 0800 073 3000 

Scottish Power 

Scottish Power advises residents to seek help of family and friends to top-up. If this is not possible, please call Scottish Power on: 0800 027 0072 

SSE

SSE can be contacted on: 0345 026 2658 

Bulb 

Bulb recommends asking family and friends to assist with topping up. If this is not possible, they also offer the ability to pay for a prepaid card online, which will then be posted out. Call Bulb on: 0300 303 0635 

Co-op Energy 

Co-op Energy can be contacted on: 0800 093 7547 

E Energy

Green Network Energy

Green Network Energy can be contacted on: 0800 520 0202 

Green Star Energy 

Green Star Energy can be contacted on: 0800 012 4510 

Omni Energy 

Omni Energy states that it has sufficient emergency credit supply, but recommends family and friends to assist with topping up. Call Omni Energy on: 0113 457 3219

Ovo

Robin Hood Energy 

Robin Hood Energy states that it always provides for a “emergency support function” for prepay users. You can call Robin Hood Energy on: 0800 030 4567

Utilita 

Utilita has reached out to its customers over 80 years of age to provide specific guidance, the company focuses on smart prepayment enabling remote payments. However, if you do not have a smart meter, the company advises you to seek the support of family and friends. You can call Utilita on: 0345 207 2000
