Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin

Thomas Cook Update

Glasgow Kelvin MSP Sandra White has received an update from the Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills regarding the current situation with Thomas Cook.

Unite the Union is planning to hold a seminar/drop in session for Thomas Cook former employees on Monday 30 September 2019 from 1 pm until 5 pm in their offices in John Smith House, 145 West Regent Street, Glasgow.

Unite will invite their members to come in and they will provide legal guidance and back to work support.  Unite has 3,000 Thomas Cook members, the bulk of whom are cabin crew and engineers.  There is no collective agreement that covers employees in the Thomas Cook stores and so they will extend the invitation to all Thomas Cook employees.

The Scottish Government will also provide support through their Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) initiative.  Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with PACE representatives for advice on a range of issues.

Please circulate this information to ensure all employees affected can access support.
