Commenting on the Federation of Small Businesses Report into the contribution’s of migrant entrepreneurs to the economy, Sandra White MSP has hailed the importance of Scotland’s welcoming environment to migrants.
FSB figures reveal that immigrant-led firms generate £13bn for the economy and 107,000 jobs.
Scotland was found to attract entrepreneurs from across the world, with 70% between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Reflecting the importance of Scotland’s place in Europe, 38% came from fellow EU Member States.

“I welcome this important contribution from the FSB and the Hunter Centre highlighting the huge economic impact migrants bring to Scotland.
“We have, rightly, heard about the massive role migrants play in our open and inclusive Scotland, however this study of migrant entrepreneurs is the first-of-its-kind”
“We must continue to nurture and grow the positive and welcoming environment here in Scotland, which has resulted in £13bn and 107k jobs by talented entrepreneurs who have made this country their home.”
