Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin has welcomed recent successes in University Rankings for all three of the city’s universities in her constituency.

Glasgow’s higher education institutions came in the top of popular subject areas across the country with a strong placement in overall leadership boards.

Sandra White MSP for Glasgow Kelvin said:

“I am delighted to see such strong showing for our institutions in this year’s University Guide rankings, with top courses across the country being placed in our city’s universities.

“Glasgow is a proud University City with three strong institutions each with distinct visions for engaging and shaping society to inspire creation of a better world, to develop useful learning and the common good of society, and to lead as an internationally-focused technological academic community.”

“Glasgow continues to be recognised as a great place to study, and our universities provide a vital role in our city’s economy and to the contribution of world-leading research and discovery.

“I am proud of the work we have undertaken to support the growth and development of our Universities. So too am I proud to have supported this Government’s work to create a fairer and open educational system for students with free tuition, strong widening access initiatives, and the best student support system in the whole UK.

“I was pleased to record these achievements in congratulatory motions to the Scottish Parliament and would like to commend all in our city’s university communities for these continued achievements.”
