I was delighted to see Caroline Wilson and the Evening Times giving this issue the attention it deserves.

Students are an incredible asset to this constituency but these developments are not for their benefit and are solely money making enterprises, often pricing out the very students they are meant to cater for. Despite this we are seeing, at an ever increasing rate, site after site being sold for yet further similar developments.

With an affordable & social housing shortage across the city GCC desperately needs to address this issue before all potential sites are sold off. The Evening Times correctly report that I am seeking to arrange a public meeting in order to consult with Glaswegians on their thoughts as to how these sites should be used; whether that be for affordable housing or for another purpose. Once I have firmed up the date and venue for such a public meeting I will make it common knowledge in the first instance.
